would you be prepared? do you have some things tucked away in your house or apartment?
I saw a neat gadget that heats up food with a hot pack.

Don't think anyone would be totally prepared for any emergency.  Everybody just seems to wing it.

Several times I've stocked up on things like canned goods, but then I worry about them going bad and eat them. Water can go bad after a while, so I end up drinking that.

I do have a flashlight that I can wind up and it works and it stays in the basement (which I suppose is my potential shelter area). I think I have a radio down there too, but I'm not sure about that. Guess I'm not really that great at survival techniques.  :-\

Do you have any suggestions?

I have battery operated candles and flashlights. I always have canned food and bottled water in the house but it isn't in a specific place. If i had to leave the house in a hurry it might be a problem. I live in a condo so I don't have a basement or shelter :peace: :snowflake:

I prepare a few days in advance of hurricanes but not the rest of the time. I really need to have an emergency kit ready all the time instead of just before hurricane strikes.

We have quite a few of "emergency" items to use in the event they are needed.  Our camping supplies come in handy at times like that!  Almost feels like you are roughing it when the electricity goes out!
Have a wonderful day!

It's funny that you ask this because my family and I just talked about emergency plans after I got a flat on the highway this weekend. It's important to be prepared; preparation is a large part of success.

No I don't have anything of any type set back for an emergency.  :confused1:
I am just trusting God.  :)  I used to have a box of canned foods type stuff stuck back, but we ended up using them.
Same thing with money!  But I don't mind trusting God, I have faith!! ;D

Living in FL, we are always prepared for a hurricane.  I have a list of "things to do".  Fortunately we have a few days warning in which to do the "list".

Doomsday Preppers might be prepared. People see them as crazy but if a disaster happens, many may want one as a best friend.

Depends on the emergency.  I know there are people who are hoarding up food and other items for this zombie apocalypse lol which is not going to happen.  I think they are referring to the rapture and the 7 years of tribulation just calling it something else.  No amount of hoarding will get you thru that.  I have enough food in my house to survive a couple of weeks if I got snowed in or something like that.  If the power grid were to go out we would all pretty much be screwed.
