Car shopping
« on: January 16, 2015, 04:21:25 am »
Car shopping can be fun at times or it can be stressful, especially if you have a tight budget. I have to turn in my
leased vehicle this year, so I will contact 3 salesmen  that sold me cars before to see what 4 door sedans they have in my
payment range. I am going to make this purchase less stressful than before.

Do you like shopping for cars?🚕🚗🚘

We went car shopping the day before yesterday.  Here in Columbus, Ohio it was very cold.  I don't enjoy it as much in the winter.  In warmer weather it is more enjoyable of course.  It's always best to take your time before purchasing.  We lucked out after the second dealer and found a great deal on a 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara (small SUV).  It only had 1 owner and was priced $ 2000 below the blue book.  Car shopping is fun but you have to watch out for lemons.  I'm glad my spouse knows a lot about cars.

If I were in the market for a new car I would do my research first before I go out to a dealership

Buy your motor vehicle only if you can afford it because they are very expensive.

We are starting to look for a used car for our teen son.  It's not fun at all.  We don't want to go to a dealer because their used cars are overpriced.

Have a payment in mind and stick to it, make them meet your terms. They want to sell the car.

Shopping for cars isn't that bad.  Dealing with salesmen is really bad.  If financing is involved it can be the absolute worst. We have bought brand new cars for the last several years because we are good on cars and don't put a lot of miles on so we can generally get over two hundred thousand miles out of them. We purchased a new car for my daughter two years ago and the financing concessions were good with zero percent financing. I have been in the finance industry for thirty four years and have never run into a more corrupt individual as the finance manager. He packed credit life insurance and involuntary unemployment insurance as well as an extended warranty on to the financing and said that it was mandatory. I explained my history and threatened to report him to the secretary of state if he didn't present 'clean' loan documents for us to sign which he did quite quickly. You really have to be careful with dealerships.

I enjoy shopping for cars especially when I can do it online.  This is how I purchased my most recent car.  It was stress free.  Once my car was shipped from the factory all I had to do was go to the dealer test drive my car and complete the necessary paperwork.  :)
