Are you on a diet to lose weight?
« on: February 15, 2015, 06:38:20 pm »
Since December of 2013 I went from 210 pounds to 159 1/2 pounds and I feel great. I am retired but feel much younger and people don't believe how old I am. My goal is to weigh 140 pounds but I will be satisfied with 145 to 150 pounds. I would also like to mention my blood pressure is normal, my sugar level is normal, and the only thing I have wrong is I am lactose, and have acid reflex which I don't take medication for these problems.

You should be proud of your accomplishments ! That is really awesome.  And, yes, I am trying to lose weight.  I hope to improve my sleep apnea better if I can get rid of it and I really hope to improve my mobility issues and to feel better about myself.  I am not trying to do it too fast though because I have lost weight before and then just gained it back and I want to eat like this the rest of my life.

Hi i was given this website info from my best friend who says your tips worked for her. I am 22 and i weigh 278.8lbs sadly. I was diagnosed with pcos at age 17 and I have been trying for years to figure out exactly what I should do i had been trying to avoid weighing myself so i wouldnt have to face my weight but going to the doctor and having them put me on the scale and seeing those numbers made me want to be proactive and finally take control of my life but i dont know exactly where to start and I wanted to ask how does someone with my caliber of weight begin to try and lose so much weight?

Thanks.

the key to weight loss is moving more and eating healthier. I struggle with it every day.
it's not hard to start just get up and move  walk or whatever you want for 2 or 3 minutes every 1/2 hour. next day add an additional 5 minute walk 2 or 3 times a day.The is key keep  moving it can walking running dancing, jumping etc
Make simple changes to your diet add 2 or 3 friuts or veggies a day and eat them first at the meal or snack
Excess weight can hide many health issues I would suggest that you see a doctor to before you make any major changes to your diet or excersise plan
Good luck keep moving and keep us posted on how you are doing :peace:
Be grateful for what you have and you will receive more than you ever expected

If you believe it you can achieve it.

I am trying to lose weight. Maybe some pounds will come off since I have started working. I hope so. I hate diets. They are so hard to stay on. When I was younger it was not so hard. Eat soup and give up sodas for a week and Walla. NOt so easy now. BMaston12

BossLadyNelly, My daughter and one niece of mine were diagnosed with PCOS at about the same age as you.  PCOS has many symptoms that are almost impossible to overcome - two of them being the inability to lose weight and the inability to conceive.  Both of these are heartbreaking to the patients who are trying to do either one.  But don't give up.  I watched my daughter lose weight with some intensive exercising and healthy eating.  And after about 12 years and much fertility testing, she has a beautiful seven-year-old son.  As you can guess, he is our pride and joy.

I don't really believe in dieting. In my opinion, they're just naturally made to fail. I do, however, believe in eating right and exercising to maintain a healthy weight.

I recently read that having a few extra pounds when you're older is beneficial to your health, so don't go too crazy with the weight loss, Dynamite2013. If you're already looking and feeling better, then just enjoy your life and your new found healthier lifestyle. Congratulations!

Weight management is vital to good health. Portion control is the answer. Avoid junk food that makes you fat and sick.

No diet but I do watch what I eat overall.  I like to do fruit and veggie shalkes.
