Losing a favorite Person
« on: February 27, 2015, 01:15:31 pm »
My eldest cousin passed away last week after a long an valiant battle with diabetes, liver issues and finally amputation.  She was a true warrior woman, loved music, made beautiful stained glass windows and had the most marvelous laugh I have ever heard.  We will miss her terribly and hope that where she is now, she is walking down the river back with her fishing pole with the sunshine all around her.

Ibeery...first off sorry for your loss of a loved one.

I wish that was the case with our loved ones.Them walking in the sunshine with their fishing poles. Then death almost wouldnt seem so bad.

BUT that isnt the case. Its an enemy.Thats why there is grief and sorrow.God has put eternity in the minds of mankind.I am not gonna take this any furthur but i am gonna put up a scripture that gives hope from Jesus.May God love and remember your loved one again.

John 5:28---Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, 29and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.…

My mother passed away last year and I believe she is in heaven living in peace and love. When Jesus died on the cross, he said to the repentant criminal beside him...“Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”   Luke 23:43

I think of my wonderful mother being in heaven sitting on a rocking chair rocking her great granddaughter, my daughter's precious baby girl, who died after 12 days in this world.

I believe it helps us cope with our loss of someone dear to have these thoughts.  :angel11: We can believe they're in a better place just waiting for us to join them.

So very sorry to hear of your great loss.  She's just beyond the veil, and at times, you'll feel her all around you.  May she rest in peace.

Very sorry for your loss, life is never the same after losing a loved one.

We either all have, or all will lose everyone dear to us.   I don't know if this helps anyone but it has helped me:   if we KNOW our loved ones are in Heaven, we can't help but to miss them--- but we shouldn't let that grief hold us back.

We know they are in a better place.  They are waiting for us!!  They finished their journey, we need the time we are given to finish ours.

I had let grief bring my journey to a standstill for a few years until I realized that.  I still miss them so much every day & I treasure every memory.  I remind myself they are waiting.  Then I strive to be the person I know I was made to be.  They always were my inspiration, but even more so now.

Yeah,i can just hear Lazarus tell Jesus after he resurrected him,"why did you resurrect me"?"I was in heaven!"

Just making a point.

Bible says you go back to dust.Non existence is what death is.

If our loved ones went to heaven after they died, there would be NO grief!

Bible says you go back to dust.Non existence is what death is.

And yet, Jesus said to the thief when he was on the cross, "Today you will be with me in Paradise."

So, either Jesus is a liar, or we don't know all there is to know.

And when Adam dis-obeyed God told him,in the day you eat from the tree of knowledge you will die!!

1000 of our years is 1 day to God explains bible.Adam died before he was 1000 yrs old.He died in Gods day.

Eccl 9:5.....For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten.

Paradise on earth is what Jesus meant as was intended.Let your kingdom come on earth as is in heaven.Resurrection of righteous and unrighteous in 1000 yr rein of Christ.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so hard to allow a person to "go home." I have gotten over being sad because there is always family waiting to guide that person home.

On April 3, 2015, my cousin's husband died. He always said he wanted to do and be buried on the same day my cousin died. He came so close, too. She had died April 5, 2009. They were married 53 years and were nicknamed "Fred and Ginger" because they were such great dancers.

MY husband and I had to attend 13 viewings and funerals within 5 months one year. They were all relatives or friends, including my mother, an "adopted" son, "adopted" brother (uncle of the "adopted" son) within 3 days (not really adopted but they felt we were their only family).  He refuses to go to any more and he hasn't. I needed to go to my cousin's husband. My cousins look to me a lot because I'm the oldest.
