I was actually on a date with someone, sitting across the table from him, when he was chewing with his mouth open.  It was repulsive, but I tolerated his behavior because he was buying dinner.

Needless to say, I never went out with him again and that was only one reason why I decided.....

he wasn't my cup of tea.
Yeah me too that's why I created this topic. Its gross having to see someone's meal in their mouth through a whole dinner. I didn't say anything to the guy. After the date that was it for me. Looking back I was like maybe I should've spoke up to save him future embarrassment. I am always worried about hurting someone's feelings.

That sounds so gross.  I think I would have to get up and leave and never go out on a date with this person again.  Some people just never learn table manners.

Ignore them because if you tell them they will tell you to mind your  business. That is how some people are...there is nothing you can do to change them!

I assumed, that in every group of people, there are people like that, so I just told myself to get use to them.

Uh well I don't know for sure if I would say anything because if a person doesn't have good manners by the time they are old enough to date I think its too late but it would be my last date with them.  Now if they asked me out again or why I didn't want to go out again I would nicely be honest about it.

Depends on how well I knew them.  If it was a first date there definitely won't be a second one.

I would say it trying to endure it is just painful to watch as bystanders look at you.

First, I hope the person well enough to not have bad table manners.  If they do, then I never eat with them again.  If someone is chewing with their mouths open and talking loud on a phone, I stay away from them.  Bad habits starts at a young age and no home training.

If that was a "date" I'd make sure I never go out with that person again and in the interim, I would leave the restaurant and take a cab home!!!

I can not stand someone talking on their cell phone when out at a resturant. I find that very rude.

I would probably ignore it and then not go on another date with them.

It would depend on how well I knew them but would be really hard not to say something!  That is so disgusting and would be embarrassing to me to sit at the same table with someone with such bad manners.
