What Keeps You Awake At Night?
« on: March 02, 2015, 05:53:35 am »
I used to be an excellent sleeper, but as I grow older and some major life events happened the last several years it has sure changed.  Now my mind won't turn off sometimes.  A retirement and physical condition I didn't expect has had fall-out.

I have also learned that unless I already know I am just not going to sleep at night, don't get on my computer and work Fusion Cash or the two other sites I am on.  I also getting off the computer about an hour two before I want to sleep.

I have generally never had a problem sleeping but on the odd occasion I can't sleep, it is usually because I am worried about something. Having said that, even my worries at bed time would probably not keep me awake if it wasn't for the fact that my husband snores! Once I'm awake, I feel like the lady out of Sleepless in Seattle who is watching her husband sleep, and every time he snores and exhales, his breath inflates the bed sheets!

Dont let the sun set with you in a provoked state i am sure can help some.

Definitely your diet and what you eat and drink also can have an effect.

I find reading while in bed helps me relax. My wife enjoys the TV on.She says its like a sedative.I prefer nice music in the background at a low volume too.

What keeps me awake at night sometimes is things that are on my mind, not feeling good, or noises outside or people that make noise.

It is rare for me to actually sleep well at night. My brain just doesn't want to sleep it keep thinking and thinking. They gave me a Resmed machine to help me breath, but still having problems sleeping. When it not nightmares it's pain or my brain not wanting to take a rest.  :(

I have not had a good night in last 4 weeks. The thought of all things with son and school along with death in family have me on edge.

Lots of things these days. I was never the same after 9/11. And other major things that happened in my life. I sleep sometimes during the day. I know my depression does that to me.
