:dog:  :cat:  :cat: We have a little nine pound shih tzu who is named baby and she is my baby.  We also have two cats which my sons have had for a long time but they still look young because they are house cats and never go outside.  These are all our babies.

I do not have any, but I would not mind having a dog.

We have one cat, Bonnie and two dogs, Lucy and Fifty right now.  I am NOT a cat person at all.  I'm allergic but someone else in my family loves cats so I suffer for them.  As long as they keep the cat as far away from me as possible, I manage.  lol

My dogs are awesome.  Both are rescues.  I've had my Lucy for over 10 years now and we've been through so much together.  She came to me heartworm positive.  We went through that treatment together and she came through perfectly.  When our house burned, Lucy and the clothes we were wearing at the time was all that was saved.  She's a tough big girl.  She's part Golden Retriever and part Leonberger.  She's almost 200lbs of cuddles, happiness and love.

My other pup is a full blood German Shepherd Dog.  He was found by a soldier at the local military base.  He was wandering lost and afraid on the 50 calibre shooting range.  The young man took him in, tried to find his owners and when he couldn't, cared for him himself.  He named him "Fifty" because of where he was found.  After about a year, his duty changed and he couldn't take Fifty along with him so he advertised on Craigslist for a new home for him.  I drove to Fort Campbell after work one night and picked him up.  He was the best addition to the family and exactly what we needed at the time.  He picked all our spirits up.  The cat hated him and she chose to hide out in one of the bathrooms for a solid week.  My bathroom, of course.  Just the few minutes needed to brush my teeth were awful!  LOL  Fifty is an amazingly sweet and loving big guy.  He thinks he's a lap dog and is constantly wanting to be hugged and cuddled.  He loves to give hugs and kisses and everyone in the family loves getting them!

I raised Saint Bernard dogs for probably about 20 years or so.  Lost my last one in December 2010.  One of these days I'd love to have Saints around the house again as they are an absolute joy in every way and live up to their "saintly" name perfectly!   :)

I have two Golden Retrievers and they rule the house! A four year old boy dog and his sister from the same parents/different litter is five years old.  We had a Golden Retriever that passed away about five years ago and we couldn't go two weeks without putting another puppy in the house. The house seemed to be without any heart and soul without our dog. When we got the first Golden the place lit up! My wife never wanted dogs but, after the first Golden, will never be without another! Once we had the new puppy trained we went and got a boy, Male dogs are so much harder to train but are so much more comical and full of energy.  We try to coerce the dogs into our California King bed every night...lasts about two hours and then they jump out.

I'm totally OWNED by three male cats, LOVE them so much and they KNOW it.  :)

*** Just a note for the pet people because so many are still unaware. Purina pet food & treats, dog & cat, wet food & dry....is causing many pets to be sick & many have died. The problem has been happening since 2010 & is currently on-going.

There are two class action lawsuits for dogs that got sick (or died) from eating Purina Beneful Foods (dry & wet).  Also Canada citizens have a class action lawsuit.  A big distributor has recently dropped Purina pet food products not just in U.S. but also internationally.

Purina refuses to do a recall or pull any products from store shelves.  Many stores that actually care about pets more than profits have already pulled Purina products from their shelves.

You can google Purina Complaints & Reviews to see all the complaints (the dates, the dogs & cats, the foods, the symptoms) on the Consumer website.

There is a facebook group that is helping many pets switch to better foods & helping the sick ones survive.  It's called something like "Is Beneful Killing Dogs....and making them sick".

It's estimated over 4000 pets have died that they know about.  Purina refuses to acknowledge there's a problem.

There are some people on here that will remember when I lost my beloved dog & cat, unexpectedly, in less than 3 weeks apart a few years ago.  After the research I have done....there's no doubt in my mind it was the Purina Fancy Feast food that killed them both. (Both died with same symptoms.  Both had been given a clear bill of health just 9 mos. prior which included thorough tests at vet.  The cat had been eating ONLY canned Fancy Feast during those months & he liked to feed what he didn't want to the dog.  My other dog, which never touched the stuff...never got sick.)

A friend lost her 9 mos old kitten & 8 year old cat this past year, in less than 6 days apart....they ate ONLY Purina foods.  I've also discovered other people I know that have lost pets too soon---that only ate Purina foods.

They are dying from symptoms of "poisoning"....but the only poison they had access to was the Purina in their bowls.

Do some research.  If you love them, change their food.  Don't play "roulette" with their lives!!

I have a Cockatiel bird who talks all the time, I have a German Sheppard-Retriever mix who is 12 years old and I have a Chihuahua and Beagle mix who just turned a year old and they keep me busy all day.
I only have 1 now. He is a Pom and very spoiled. I used to have a big dog and a rabbit. But I had to give them up when I sold my place in the country. Miss them and the open air. BMaston12
