How long does it take when you pray to get it answered?

Well it depends on the pray. If I am praying for a way to get food, or help if I need it, my prayer is answer almost immediately. If I am ill it may take longer but my prayers are answered so I can do the necessary things. I pray constantly and always thank God and Jesus for what they do for me and my family and friends.

THE above question elicits a great deal of excitement and curiosity. The Bible shows that Jehovah does listen to prayers today. Whether he hears ours or not is largely up to us.
Jesus denounced religious leaders in his day who prayed hypocritically; they cared only about making a show of their piety. He said that such men would have “their reward in full,” meaning that they would receive only what they wanted most, the attention of men, but not what they needed, God’s hearing ear. (Matthew 6:5) Likewise today, many pray according to their own will and not God’s. Ignoring the Bible principles that we have discussed, they do not get God’s hearing ear.
What, though, about you? Will God hear and respond to your prayers? The answer does not depend on your race, nationality, or social standing. The Bible assures us: “God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.” (Acts 10:34, 35) Do those words describe you? If you fear God, you hold him in the highest regard, fearing to displease him. If you work righteousness, you seek to do what God says is right rather than following your own will or that of your fellow humans. Do you really want God to listen to your prayers? The Bible directs you to your goal.*
Of course, many want God to answer their prayers with a miracle. Even in Bible times, though, God rarely performed such wonders. Sometimes centuries passed between one recorded miracle and the next. Further, the Bible indicates that the age of miracles ended after the days of the apostles. (1 Corinthians 13:8-10) Does this mean, then, that God does not answer prayers today? Far from it! Consider some prayers that he answers.
God grants wisdom. Jehovah is the ultimate Source of all true wisdom. He is generous with it, sharing it freely with those who want his guidance and who seek to live by it.—James 1:5.
God gives his holy spirit and all of its benefits. Holy spirit is God’s active force. There is no force stronger. It can help us to endure trials. It can fill us with peace when we are troubled. It can help us to cultivate other beautiful and endearing qualities. (Galatians 5:22, 23) Jesus assured his followers that God gives this gift generously.—Luke 11:13.
God enlightens those who earnestly seek him. (Acts 17:26, 27) Around the world, there are people who sincerely seek the truth. They want to know about God—what his name is, what his purpose is for the earth and humankind, how they can draw close to him. (James 4: Jehovah’s Witnesses often meet people like that and are delighted to share the Bible’s answers to such questions.

God knows what we "need" before we even ask...but man does not live by bread alone, but by the very word of God!!!

Sometimes it may seem that our prayers are not answered.  I think sometimes about the country song - I Thank God for Unanswered Prayers.  Sometimes things we ask for may not be good for us or may not be in God's plan.  We may find much later that it was a good thing we did not get what we asked for.

i was raised to believe that god answers your prayers sometimes it quickly some times it take a while but if you truly believe in god you will get the answers

I don't really know how to answer that.  Sometimes I think God's answer is simply to wait.

When you pray you have to believe. Most prayers aren't instant, so don't focus on it being answered right away. Just stay in faith, and keep thanking Him for whatever you've prayed for, even if you don't see it. Stay focused and positive and listen to that small still voice in the pit of your stomach. Not everything we pray for will we get, it may not be in His plan for us.

I think prayers are answered when it is needed. I do believe he has a plan and whether we pray for it or not there is always something working for you.

I believe that all prayers are answered.  People forget that not every prayer is answered with a "yes."  Sometimes God says "no" or "slow down, not right now."  But He answers every prayer with your welfare in mind.

Just keep praying your prayers will be answered, maybe not the way you want but the way God see's fit. God is good.

I pray everyday.  I thank the Lord for my blessings and all the things I do have.  I praise and honor him several times a day.  As to how long it takes to get your prayer answered-I think the Lord knows when and how my prayers will be answered.  Things happen for a reason and I believe the Lord put them before you to see how you handle any situation in your life.

There is no easy answer to this - I dont know I pray about things that sometimes may get answered right away but I may not even ever know it was answered like praying for my sister and brother who I haven't seen for approximately five years but I still keep praying for them.  Praying for my husband right before he died was answered right away because he died pretty quickly so the answer to save him was no.  It just depends on the prayer and the answer God chooses.  I am praying to come out of Afib for several weeks but I'm still in it so that isn't a quick one.  The bible says pray without ceasing so I try to do that.

You may never know when your prayers are answered.  My mother prayed for her children and grandchildren every day.  I see now, after she has passed away, her children and grandchildren are accepting Christ more and more.

god answers prayer based on his timetable. He answers when he feels the need
