If it's really bad try Epsom salt, but make sure you read the directions on the package. Some people with medical conditions shouldn't drink Epsom salt. Apples, lots of water, and prune juice also helps.

Personally for me. I make myself a salad with all the veggies in it and drink a glass or two of lemon water or green tea with squeezed lemon in it, then take a short walk. After walking I always run to the bathroom lol Sorry but this method works well on me all the time.

Nature Made Magnesium:  http://www.naturemade.com/minerals/magnesium/high-potency-magnesium

Don't laugh, it works.  Some form of magnesium is in most, if not all, of the OTC products for constipation.

Fruit and lots of water and if you're a coffee drinker that always helps me!  Good luck! Oh, and Dulcolax (Spelling?)  was recommended by my doctor many yeas ago when I was having the same issue.  I took 1 pill a day for several months and got leveled out.

Take Metamucil and probiotic supplements.  Try kefir.  You can get it at Walmart or health food stores it comes in different flavors and tastes good.  Drink more water and get more exercise but definitely try the probiotics.

Prunes or Prune juice are the best for constipation.  But you can also go to the vitamin store, maybe some of those international stores and get a tea, there are some teas that help clean you and send you to the bathroom quickly too.  and if worse comes to worse go to Walgreens, etc and by so of those laxatives chocolates they help a lot.  But the natural resources are the best.

The prune and the tea are what works for me.  If constipation for children then try the prune and prune juice
