it didnt work with the neighbors dog. she wanted me to sit for it. a big dog shepard lab dobbermen mix. I told her she would have to chain it up and she goes oh no no no you need to come walk with me 2 days before we leave. reluctantly I went to walk with her and the dog bit me multiples times. they had no insurance, are not paying bills. the lawyers dont want them with no insurance and no one is even going over to ask the man why he thinks he should not pay the er bill. im 60 years old and people stay out instead of help those who are truly injured. the man will get away with stealing, lieing and everything in his future because no one is advocating for him, even if he did not mean for the dog to maul me. hell never have to pay for his wrongs people the neighbors are raving happy with me I got rid of the dog cause the homeowners insurance found out and made them get rid of him, but they wont pay an er bill and no one confronts him by asking him why. I wonder what is my next recourse. im moving and the others will just suck up to him cause he is one of those came her to just abuse the people here and not to be friendly. He offered to let me go to mexico to live with his dad and raise pigs. what an a--..  if anyones knows a probono help or a way to get help let me know.

Best way to teach your dog respect is at an early age. He/she will learn as he/she grows older.

There are a number of different theories on how to train a dog. Something which might work for one dog may not always work with a different breed.

A dog doesn't understand "respect."  An animal's reactions all depend upon how a HUMAN treats them.  When you love them and treat them well, they learn to trust you and become one of your greatest assets and best friend/family member in life.  Abuse and misuse them, they become fearful and lash out because, like you, they don't want to be HURT physically, they don't want to be mistreated.  They don't understand WHY they're being mistreated.  However, over any human being alive, and even AFTER an animal has been abused and mistreated, they are capable of unconditional love.  Try getting that from a human being.
