i have one toddler and i struggle daily with this issue so i feel for you.  i try to do as much work as i possibly can in the morning while they are having breakfast and then let them watch some tv or play on his learning tablet.  then i get him some lunch around 10:30 or 11 as we typically get up around  4 am and then he goes down for a nap so i work while he naps.  when he wakes up then it time for him either by going outside or doing arts and crafts.

You do have your hands full with 2 little ones to care for.  I feel for you and don't believe I could do it.

Little ones take a lot of time.  They need you.  Schedules are not always something that work since kids have their own time frame for needing your attention and love.

Naptime is one of the times for you to get things done....hopefully the 5 year old rests a little....and at the same time as the 5 month old.  Otherwise before they get up or after they go down for the night.

I wonder about those of you who advocate working on other things while your kids take naps. Kudos to you.

For me, that was my best time to get in a nap as well.

HensleyII, with all due respect, I think you are trying to do too much. Take it easy, or get some help. Life is too short to stay so stressed.

Not unusual for young kids to take up alot of time.If i had little kids i'd never be able to go on here unless they were sleeping.  The 5yr old could watch an hour of Tv or so one show wouldn't hurt remember my kids liked to watch Tv and i could actually sit down or do dishes something like that.

If it was easy, you wouldn't be doing it right.  I take care of 3 other kids including my own everyday after school from 230-0630pm everyday. You just keep going and make it work for you.
