Tattoo or Not?
« on: August 05, 2009, 09:43:57 pm »
Is it good to get a tattoo or two?

Should you get your current lover's name for everyone to see how much you love them?

Is it true that once you get one, you can't resist getting more?

It seems to be getting even more popular than when I was in the service and you got one every time you got drunk.

What do you think?

Tattoos are not for me.  I can't get pass the needle thing and how unsanitary it really is.

Not a great idea to have your lover or wife name tattooed on your person.  What happens if you split from that individual, you are stuck.

Some people tend to go overboard with the tattoo thing and there is the question of taste.  Some tattoos are horrible.

Is it good to get a tattoo or two?  Why not?

Should you get your current lover's name for everyone to see how much you love them?  It's NEVER a good idea to get your girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife/lover's name tattooed on you!

Is it true that once you get one, you can't resist getting more?  Yes!

What do you think?  I have only one tattoo, but what an awesome experience it was! I would love to get another one -- they truly are addictive -- but my hubby doesn't like them so I am settling for just one.

I got my first tattoo within six months of turning 18. I got 3 more within the next year. Then a few years later I got another one. I just got one on my 31st birthday after not having a new one in 7 years... I have 6 total, I would NEVER get someone's name inked on me though!

i agree with the person who said they are unsanitary ....
i would NEVER get one...they r absolutely useless. they increase one's illusory worth rather than real worth. also, a waste of money. sorry if i've offended anyone...this is what forums r for..to state your personal opinion

Well I have both my kids name's on me. My oldest is on my back and my youngest is on my arm. They picked the places. Would I get them removed, NO. I also have my husbands name on my neck, would I remove it, NO. I have four more that are covered up, and NO I would not remove them.
I love all of my tattoos. And even if, like someone mentioned my husband and I didnt stay together, the tattoo will never be a mistake. I will always love him for everything he has changed in my life. I think that getting someones name on your body is a personal decission one not taken lightly.
Some shops are unsanitary, you have to do your homework. Thankfully we have a RN that has her own shop and she pulls new needles in front of you covers the device with a small baggy. If your still uneasy ask them questions. If they want your buisness they will take the time to answer.

I personally don't care for tattoos, but it is a personal thing.  If you are going to get someone's name done, I think it should be of a child or a loved one who has passed on.

I love tattoos.
Currently I only have one, but I would love to get more!
Its a really great way to express your individuality I believe.
As long as it's not something ridiculous (i.e. lover's name, strange pictures, drunken tats)
I have my zodiac symbol (pisces) on the back of my shoulder. I love it. <3

I have to agree I currently have one but plan on getting one with my kids names and another with my husbands name. It is something you really have to think about if you have been together with boyfriend or girlfriend for like a week i wouldn't be jumping into the tattoo chair right away but i have been with my husband for 7 years and if we did ever break it off that is the father of my children and my love and memories for the last 7 years. As for unsanitary the place i went had new needles and the bag that went over and they showed me all the instruments before hand some places are don't go to them be safe. Do i think they are addictive yes!!!! I was scared to get my first but once i had it i wanted to go back the following day for another. but i will draw the line and not cover my whole body i think having whole body covered looks tacky just my opinion good luck with your choice
