I have a cell phone and a landline. The only time I use my cell is for emergencies.

We still have a landline phone because our DSL requires the line. But mostly we only get junk calls on it. We use our cell phones for everything these days.

We haven't had a landline for over 10 years now. We rarely ever used it and most of the calls were from telemarketers. I'd rather use my cell phone because it's more convenient for me.

When I was younger I could never have imagined a time when we wouldn't need landlines however these days I get unlimited calls with my cell phone provider - why would I want a landline? I speak to my sister every day and of course I can always Skype her (she lives in the UK). Now I can see that the days for landlines are numbered. How weird is that?

Yes, it's good to have a landline in case something happens to your cell phone.

I cancelled my landline except for the computer but I may get it back if I bundle my TV, phone and computer for way less money but I have to switch from DirecTv to Dish.

Thanks for all the replies. Where I live, basically every number I would call is considered long distance and the long distance landline plans here cost around $65 a month, which is something I just can't afford.

We still have a landline. I like having it, because I don't get good cell service inside my home.
