I've always lived in a suburb...never lived on a farm. I've kind of wanted to though, it's simple, yet tough. Hard work is appreciated and expected. I think I'd do well on a farm (until I had to do gross stuff). haha

Living on a farm/ranch, either one is a great place to raise children, they learn a lot. It is a great life. But on the other hand is hard, tough and sometimes really dirty work and a lot of times it is from sunup to sundown and later. in my case I was up by 5 a.m. and sometimes when I would be canning it would be midnight before I went to bed. Get up and start all over again the next day. But raised two great kids.

I was raised on a farm and yes it is hard work.  You definitely learn the value of a dollar and to appreciate the finer things in life.  But this experience taught me a great deal that I probably would not have learned other wise.  :)

What discerns a garden from a farm?

I would like to live in a farm, and it would be lots of work and fun at the same time.

I don't like to leave where the place with not much people, because I get use to it in the crouded place.  I've visited my friends in the farm before, it seem nice and very quiet. :)

Farms and ranches both are lots of hard work.  Have family that have dairy farms and others that have cattle ranches.   Both are lots of work, but also lots of fun.  We would have a big party when it was time to brand, and all the neighbors around would come and help with branding and vaccinations.  Big party when it was time to dip the sheep, it was hard work but great fellowship with all the neighbors.
