Take a shower...because it helps to regulate your body temperature.

Most people take herbal medicine to help with the hot flashes.

i would look into the herbal side of things they are much more natural then the medicines on the market which tend to have major side effects that can be worse then the hot flashes.

Thank goodness I am past that, mostly!  Sometimes I'll still get a hot flash at night when I'm trying to sleep but not too often any more.

Herbal can work wonders.  Try getting one of those.  Good luck, I know how terrible they can be.

so i have been having hot flashes for 2 years ,still cant get dr to diagnose me
I had a hysterectomy. My Dr prescribed me hormones right away and changed them as the weeks went by. After 2 years, I stopped taking them. I used cream for vaginal dryness. But after those 2 years, my hot flashes went away. Have you tried Vitamin E? It has helped me when I get too hot in the middle of the night. Since my husband died, I started to get them again. The vitamin E was my solution. BMaston12

Diagnose you with what?  There are a lot of different things that can cause hot flashes.  The doctor may not know what is causing it and some things that can cause them there is nothing they can do to stop it.

That's the one symptom I didn't have, but someone I knew did and she put something cold (like a lunchbox size blue ice) over her heart to cool her blood.  I've tried it when I felt too hot and it works wonders.

Yes, herbs work.  Try vitex (aka chaste tree berry) to balance your hormones.  Nature's Way also makes a herbal combination called "Change-o-life".  I used to take both.  I started perimenopause early and my mom had started at an even younger age.  I didn't have any question what was happening.  One day things were normal, then they were all off kilter.  Listen to your body, it'll give you signs.

If your doctor won't listen maybe you need to talk to another one.

Are you dealing with menopause?  That's the first thing I think of when you say hot flashes.  There are certain foods that are considered phytoestrogens; meaning that, they act like estrogen in your body to reduce menopausal symptoms.

I use Vitamin E and some people use soy milk.

Have a great day!
