I have heard that potassium usually helps. When I was playing footy, I got really bad cramping in my legs after a particularly rough training and a coach of a different sport told me to use vitamin C. Cold water seems to help when soaking in it, lots of professional athletes do that after games and training to help with recovery. I'm not sure if this would help you or not, it may depend of what is actually causing the cramping.

I'd probably try Aleve- seems to work on everything. Good luck!

I've heard Epsom salt baths - I take those every once in a while after a long run. I have cramps in my legs pretty much all the time. Also stretching maybe?

Yeah, that does happen to me occasionally. (It happened a lot while I was pregnant!). They say it is because your body is short of potassium which I think is found in bananas. I would start with a banana a day and if it doesn't help, talk to your doctor.

I tend to massage it out first for the most part then stand on it. But they are less painful for me when I have drank a lot of water during the day. But I do keep a bottle right next to my bed and reach for it to drink as I am massaging.

I usually get leg cramps when I'm dehydrated, so I drink more water and eat something with potassium.

Great timing for this topic for me this morning.  Last night I had several very painful leg cramps....WOW!!!  I have never had this before.
First I had knot behind my left knee so I put pressure and massaged it.  BAMMMM!  I had a knot above my right ankle.  These took my breath away and caused me to cry out in pain.  I HAVE NEVER had this before, so I am empathizing with those of you who say you have them regulary!

The second cramp in my Right ankle moved up to a knot behind my Right knee....OWWW....
I still feel tenderness this morning.....

I better start more water and get some Bananas!  I'll even try the soap in sheets trick.

Sometimes my husband gets them and he takes a product for leg cramps that he get over the counter at the pharmacy.  Also, if it is summer and he has been working outside and sweating a lot he will take a salt pill.  Hot baths help relieve the cramps in his legs, usually.
