Do Protein Shakes work for you? (Working Out)
« on: May 23, 2015, 04:29:14 pm »
I just got seriously back into working out multiple times a week.  I was just wondering what your opinion/personal experience is with protein shakes?  Is their a way to maximize their effectiveness before or after a workout?  thank you for your time! 8) :peace:  p.S.  the one I'm using is GNC Cookies and Cream lean shake!

When I lifted weights I would drink my protein shake with amino acids right after working out. It seemed to help my muscles recover faster.

Protein shakes definitely work for me. But I do use a specific brand and I do not want to advertise on here but I also am a seller for the products. It has done WONDERS for my body.

read the ingrediants how many carbs, are they natural that can be absorbed by the body. if its something you just eliminate then they only give you the energy to work out. and maybe they are better than a pepsi which is empty carbs but gives you energy to walk longer.

It only works for me if I use whey protein and mix in a lot of berries with my drink in a blender. You must work out before and after each drink for max results. Don't forget breakfast.

Yes it works if you are trying to gain muscle bulk and mass. Not so much for just dieting. You need to cut way back in caloric intake when dieting, and then a protein shake will prevent muscle loss during weight reduction.

Spirulina and water is the best protein drink you can ever make.

I haven't tried them but my sister and brother drink them after going to the gym.

This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

I prefer energy drink before works out. I got a lot of protein from food already, only once a while I feel I need it.

I need to resume my work-out regimen. I am beginning to get lazy and fall back into my former(destructive) eating habits. As for protein shakes, I am not really a huge fan about them, especially since some of them contain some harmful substances (such as creatine).
