internet trolls are pretty much as you said...people with way too much time on their hands that are too scared to say what they think to people in person so they attack online and hide behind an anonymous name.  sad really

Very true. It is hard not to get riled up by them sometimes though. I just remind myself what losers they are and that they are psychologically disturbed.

Some people have nothing better to do and dare do it under the disguise of anonymity. (Did I spell that right?)

It is a shame when people feel that it is acceptable to be derogatory to other people they don't even know. I accept that we are all entitled to our opinions but I question someone's intent when the conversation serves no purpose but to attack and demean other people.

Idk.  If you didn't do you want me to attack you and call you names?  LOL.  I am guessing you did because when I replied it doesn't have the red squiggly line under anything other than your user name.

I agree with everyone.  Although sometimes when you are personally attacked by some idiot you don't even know it is hard to not fire back.  And I am talking bad attacks.  I was recently called a *bleep* and a liberal simply for making the statement that I am a Christian.  Now try to figure that one out.  Smh.  And since our discussion on the other thread I am self conscience when I use the abbreviations.  : )

Yeah, I just totally don't get people at all.  Online, in person, or any where.  It really amazes me at what a person will say to another person online simply because they don't agree with something they say.  Sometimes it is if people don't realize they are actually talking to a real person on the other end.  Seriously, if you were talking in person would you tell someone to go kill themselves because you didn't agree with them?  I guess some people probably would.

I pretty much call these situations( Fish On a Hook)
The Troll's are the hook and they are baiting for fish... (once you get into this situation there is no win no matter what you do or say)
Which is why i try to stay out of situations where two people are in an arguement over something i post.. or something i say or someone else post's or says...
Everyone has a diffrent view/ prespective on things
Which makes the world go around because nobody in the world is the same.. and that should make people feel good
because it makes us all unique..
I don't understand why anyone needs to attack anyone ... For shame...

There have been times I have defended someone who was attacked for no reason.  And I tend to want to defend myself as well.  But you are correct.  They are just looking for someone to take the bait.  If you pay attention you will notice, if you have not already, when you say something that the other person disagrees with they automatically start hurling insults and slams.  I just don't understand people any more at all.

I've been insulted on here . It happens. Some people have too much time on their hands and others are overly sensitive. There are some sites I avoid even reading comments anymore because they're so crazy. I know I completely stopped going to one site because the people were so catty and immature. I was accused of all types of things and constantly insulted so it wasn't worth my sanity to continue to visit.

EVERYONE is entitled to their own point of view.  Occasionally, I've had bullies respond to a comment I make and it might make my blood boil.  My way of dealing with it; is that, I no longer go back and read comments after I comment because I don't care what other people think about my opinion.

It's different if it's set up like a debate.  People are going to view things from different angles and that's perfectly alright.  The problem is when a person decides to launch a personal attack on someone.  That would be considered negative and unhealthy behavior.

Have a great day!

It seems like wherever on-line that allows people to "comment"---it never fails, a troll will show up.  It doesn't matter if it's news, a video, news of a homicide, animal abuse, some family lost a child, someone's house burned etc. a troll will pop up and post something horribly cruel.  The best thing is when everyone else just ignores them and keeps posting encouragement in support of those who are suffering.
Trolls have NO sense and someday they'll get to eat their own words.  :)

The problem is that the Internet gives people anonymity so they think they can say anything they want without any repercussion.  It is who those people truly are inside.

Very true.  And the Bible says we will give an account for every idle word spoken.  That also includes words typed on the internet.  I have read the TOS on most sites and every one says you cannot do certain things.  I have been on another site where a kid age 9 (this is clearly stated in her profile and you can tell by her fish face picture) and she constantly yells at people she doesn't agree with saying "go kill yourself".  I have reported this several times but last time I checked the comments were still there and her profile is still up.  So apparently they don't care.

And I am guessing she is like the bullies that kept telling a classmate to kill herself and done horrible things to her online and she finally did kill herself and they just laughed and said they didn't care ---  she would probably be the same way.  I think people tend to forget when we post online we are talking to real people.
