The most unusual pet I have had is a Boa Constrictor, next to that I'd have to say my turtles!

Growing up I had a cousin (boy) who was 4 months older than me.  As kids he loved 'strange' pets, and because we were so close, what he had I had, like frogs, turtles, and even a snake!  Of course my mother was not thrilled at all with the 'pets' I would bring home.  I miss him so much, he was killed in Vietnam.  :(

I had a Boa Constrictor we named "Mama."  Years later, when she got pretty big and we moved out of state and couldn't take her with us, we gave her to friends who had her sexed, only to find out Mama was a Papa, LOL!

We also had some Pacus (they're a type of fish with teeth that look very much like human teeth).  We had them from the time they were tiny babies and they grew HUGE.  These fish enjoyed being petted while we cleaned their tank.  Yeah, they had a pretty big tank, too.  If I remember right, it was 150 gallons.

Of course, there was my "Popper" who past away at 23 years old just a couple of years ago.  He was a small parrot called a Brown Headed African Parrot.  He was so awesome.  He talked, he loved company, and he shared our meals.  He loved chicken, pork, steak, all kinds of fruit and nuts.  He was like a little green and yellow human, LOL.

At one time I had 2 white mice, a hermit crab, and a tank with a few guppies. My best friend always said I had interesting pets that most people didn't have. For example, most people would have hamsters but I had mice, most people would have goldfish, but I had guppies, and hermit crabs just aren't popular period.

At the moment, I have 2 dogs, 1 of the mice, and the hermit crab.

Growing up, I had a young hawk for a few months until someone accidentally killed it.  :(  A variety of turtles, a tortoise, Chinese Dwarf hamster, various breeds of rabbits, a duck.....and we had "turkens", lol.  Also had a chipmunk that was found nearly dead in the bottom of a well.  Got him warmed up and had it eating pizza out of my hand and riding in my shirt pocket within a few hours when I was a teen.  I've always loved animals...  :)

I had a pet bug when I was in grade school. We raised these bugs when I was in class and then I kept my bug as a pet for the summer.
