Test strips and a red camera
« on: July 01, 2015, 12:00:07 pm »
I keep getting a red camera icon in the upper corner saying my adobe flash is outdated.  Adobe Flash makes my Mozilla run slow, and time out a lot, and did not want to just download....its scarey (spyware fears).

Anyone else getting that?

Then when I clicked on "Test Strips" video....got an ad for "Goosebumps" not the test strip video.

I clicked on one of the other videos, got a black screen and it says "This is private".

I have had problems with FC all day, including not being able to log in for quite awhile, and it would not take my password.

Anyone else having these issues?

thanks   :rose:

maybe your video feed is out of date. you probably need to upgrade it. it is usually free to do.

Just out of curiosity, have you run a virus and malware scan lately?  Adobe Flash shouldn't "slow" Firefox down at all, but if your flash is out of date, you may not be able to see videos.  The easiest way to update your plugins in Firefox is to open your "Add-ons," on the left hand side, click on "Plugins," and at the top of that page, click on "Check to see if your plugins are up to date."  This should tell you which plugins need updating or not.  PS:  Is your Firefox up to date?  Current version is 38.0.5.

I did just that, and all is well again. Thanks so much for the help.

I am very un-geeky at times.

nothing un-geeky about it.. it's always better to be safe... I got the same message earlier and checked to see if updates were available... installed them and everything is fine

I have never had a problem with Adobe.  It is one of the safer sites.  You can always uninstall and run a scan if you have problems.   Try and see if it helps

I trust Adobe too, just had never had a red camera warning before.

I had to uninstall Adobe Flash last winter as it caused my Mozilla to "hang'.

Thanks, did download it. Sso far so good   :rose:

I have had this happen to me a few times, but I never update the flash player because I use chrome and it has its own flash player.

I removed Adobe Flash recently because I was having problems updating it, and the troubleshooting guide said to completely remove it & reinstall... anyway, once I uninstalled it, my web browser has been crashing far less and behaving much better.   I don't think I will reinstall it ever again, at least on my windows laptop.

No and hope I do not get. Is your virus and malware protection up to date, try running a scan to see if that helps. Like you, I do not like to click on things like that for fear of downloading something  harmful to my computer. Hope you are able to resolved without any problems.
