hand me downs
« on: July 17, 2015, 08:03:49 am »
thrift stores do have a decent selection.
relatives within families swap clothes when they grow out of them.
my family passed on clothes to the next person the outfits or clothes items would fit.

I don't do that as often as I should (buy there). I do donate almost all my daughter's clothes when she is done with them.

Most of my clothes I give to the thrift stores. I just bought two dresses from there with the tags still on them. For my kids clothes I give those to family members or friends kids to wear.

I donate my clothes, but I never received many hand me downs because everyone in my family was either much older or younger than I was.

I probably buy about 1/3 of my clothes from thrift stores. I believe in being a good steward of what God has given me.

I really like Thrift stores.  I don't do yard sales very often because I'm not very social, in a situation like that; however, I buy and sell on eBay.  I love getting a good deal.  Here, in Utah, we have a store called Deseret Industries.  It's affiliated with the LDS church.  I can usually find what I need there.

Have a great day!

I donate all of my kids old clothes, no need to hang on to them. no place to store them or give them to. Our local youth center sells donated items reasonably and uses the money to help fund the center.

Where I live, we have a table in the laundry room for clothes or anything you don't use/need any longer.
People can come in and take what they want or can use.
After about a week, if there is anything left, the maintenance man takes it to the local shelter.

I like to shop at thrift stores. I usually find some really nice clothes there. Anything I don't want or can't wear anymore gets donated.

I shop at thrift stores too. I have found some really nice items. I usually donate my clothes that I no longer wear to charity or church when they are setting up a clothing drive

I also donate clothes and other items to a local charity that supports battered women and helps them find housing and jobs when they leave their wife beating husbands.

I think as long as they're clean and decent, then they're a great option for everyday wear.
