sometimes when you move to a new apartment, you miss to quiet neighbors you had.
One of my neighbors has that experience.
she moved from the fourth floor to the first floor for convenience.
there are pros and cons to every decision.

This is true. I love first floor because of the convenience plus hardwood flooring is usually only available on the first level due to noise. But if its convenient for me its also convenient for potential danger to come my way especially as a single woman. The apartment above me is vacant. Thank God.

First apartment I lived in when I moved away from my childhood home = I lived on the basement level.  Above me was an Asian family with two small children.  The boy was maybe five years old and all he ever did was run and jump with crashes that rattled the ceiling!  I nicknamed him "Dumbo" because he sounded like an elephant trying (and failing) to fly!

I remember that from back when I used to rent. I hate having to go upstairs, but I don't like the noise of the people above.

The first apartment I rented (with 2 other girls) was a 3 bedroom on the 3rd (top) floor.  Loved it for the safety reason and no noise from neighbors above, but it was a pain going up the stairs with groceries, etc.

I preferred an upper floor, but it was a pain when I was going for therpy and someone had to help me up the stairs as I did not have feeling in my legs.  Also had to have someone drive to the hospital and back.  Thank God I had good friends and bosses as I could not even get up and fix a meal. Someone was always stopping by to see if I needed any thing. I had to leave my door unlocked but the neighbor downstairs was home most of the time. No family  there to help me at all. Was so glad the shots were for only 6 months into the spine. Once the disk healed up I was fine .

Apartment living has its advantages and disadvantages.  Neighborhood noise is one of the disadvantages. :(

I always mind my own business. I dont care what my neighboors are up to or what they are doing. As long as they are peaceful people I am fine with that. With Apartments I always look for the price first and then interested to see the inside. I am not a very picky person either when it comes to interier as long as it is in good shape and nothing is falling out I am signing the lease. And currently I am looking for an apartment.

Before we got our current house we lived on the top floor of a 3 story apartment. I liked it better than the bottom floor but I hated having to carry groceries up and down the steps and worrying about my dog running around and disturbing the people under me. And moving in and out was a struggle. Carrying all the furniture up and down the stairs.

We moved into an apartment after we'd been married 2 years or so and I didn't mind it at all.  We lived in a 2nd story apartment and it was a brand new complex.  We only lived there about a year or so.  We bought our current house when our first daughter was 6 months old and have been here for 37 years.  I wouldn't have a problem living in another one but I'd be pretty particular about which one as some in our town are slums.

I don't like apartment living. Listening to your neighbors walking is not cool. I don't like hearing their TV either. I keep mine turned up so I guess people would complain about the volume. I also have a dog. He barks a lot and I am sure that would be a problem too. BMaston12

I'd rather live on an upper level because I love vaulted cielings and I like getting exercise in whenever and wherever I can. :D

I have lived in apt.s before.  But I much prefer the house I live in now.  And, of course, there are pros and cons on both sides.
