do you set a pace for certain projects or long term tasks?
it is a form of goal setting.

I write down lists, for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.  I do not look at them again very often but just the at of writing them down kind of sets it in my mind,

My pace would be... Fast but slow at the same time....

I like to get things done straight away... but also slow and steady to make sure it get's done right..

For example..... Dishes.... I do the dishes right after we eat.. So that i can get the food off before it starts getting sticky and yucky... I take my time rinsing the dishes because you do not want to put them in the dishwasher without food being off of them.. could clog up to dishwasher and not to mention not come out of the dishwasher clean...

Another example would be mowing the grass... I like to get it done but i do not rush my mowing.... I like to make sure i have everthing lined up properly and i like to  go down the grass 2 times... Now that we have a riding lawn mower it is much easier..

Last example would be Vacuming.. Such an easy chore right? But if you don't go over the floor at a slow and steady pace.. you won't be doing much good for your carpet.. Yes i like to get the work done but again i like my floor to look nice.. I usually go over my floor until i no longer am picking big chunks of pethair or dirt out of my vacume..

I set daily goals, weekly goals, monthly goals, quarterly goals, yearly goals and five year goals. I check my status on projects at lunch, dinner and right before I go to bed. I set the pace in my goals at a fairly rapid expectations so that I am competing with myself. I believe in constant and never ending improvement. My yearly goals are generally increased by ten to fifteen percent-similar to corporate goal planning that I used to implement when setting the future growth expectations for various entities that I ran or owned.  It even carried over to goal setting for my kids and they have met and exceeded them all. My youngest is bucking the system a bit with certain areas but doing great on others. All I ask is that they try.
