Blood clot in leg
« on: July 29, 2015, 04:20:11 pm »
Does anyone have this issue? DVT? I need some help with swelling in my foot. I got the clot after a sprained ankle so it's still healing but it's very uncomfortable to be so swollen all day and night. What can I do for relief?

I am sorry to know of your blood clot in your leg,  try to wear compression stockings to help with the swelling.  My thought and prayers are with you.  Hope you will feel better in the coming days.

Ask your Doctor. A relative of mine got one after surgery. It took a bit but she did get relief.

my dad has issues with this as well he is retired so he was told to stop smoking elevate his leg and stay off of it as much as possible he also use some mild compression type stockings.  he says its still painful but not throbbing.  this was recommended for his particular condition by his doctor so you should consult your own doctor first before doing anything else.

Very serious condition and your physician should be contacted. I broke my foot several years ago and had to be in a cast up to my knee for a few months.  When the cast came off my calf was swollen to just about the size of my mid-thigh.  After getting an ultrasound it was determined that I had a DVT which is a clot in your vein. The danger is that the clot can dislodge and flow through your arterial system, ultimately lodging in your heart or brain crating a stroke or embolism. I was given two months worth of injections to start the initial blood thinning treatment and then spent two years on Coumadin/warfarin which was an oral blood thinner and hard to monitor.  I basically had no control over my body for two years.

Never got a blood clot in the leg, but I did hear about it from a streamer in Twitch tv (starcraft streamer). I heard he used compression socks, elevate his leg, walking, and apply heat to the area to stimulate blood flow
