How many people have adopted their pets? Cats? Dogs? Other animals?

It's a wonderful thing to adopt pets.  There are so many animal out there who need a home.

I had adopted a cat but we just recently moved and no animal allowed so I gave our cat to a friend who has many cats.

That is a picture of our Harley on my profile. We adopted him almost 2 years ago. He is the first pet we have adopted but will not be our last.

All my pets are rescued.  If you even want a pure breed they even have those on rescue sites.  I have had pure Persian cats, pure toy poodles, many other pure breeds and many "muts".  They seem to really be so appreciative and love you so much.

I have not technically adopted any but I have a dog that was given to us since the owners could not have her.  They offered her to us before they took her in to the shelter, she was still a puppy and we took her in and we cannot see our house without her in it.  She is 10 now and getting old but is still the best thing that happened to us since the kids where born.

My dog I have now was adopted from The Humane Society. I love animals and have always wanted to foster animals until they are able to get adopted.

All of my cats were rescues, some from feral litters I took care of years ago (and I had these ferals spayed and neutered).  I have one pure bred Bengal that was adopted from a breeder (Sambuca is 13 years old and doing great), and I had one pure bred Miniature Pinscher (Spike, who passed away at 14.5 years) that I adopted from a breeder.  My Boxer was adopted, and my other dog, an Australian Kelpie was rescued from an abuser.

Our youngest daughter talked me into letting her adopt a puppy and a kitten on our last trip to the pound.  They grew up together and loved each other.  We lost the cat several years ago due to an accident but we still have the dog.  He turned 15 years old last month and is a very important part of our family.

I didn't adopt mine, but I kept one that I couldn't find the owner of, after she showed up in our yard.  The other, someone just dropped off out of their car at a toll booth, so I gave him a home.  They're both very sweet dogs.
