I've been reading The 10 Most Important Conversations To Have Before You Get Married. There's good advice in there but I'm wondering what you married Fusioncashers think is important to talk about before making such a huge commitment?

Never quite thought of that, but it would be good to discuss finances, kids, goals and dreams, gender changes if that was done I'd be important to know.

I'm not married but if I were to get married I'd have to discuss finances, living arrangements (whose house to live in, house size and location, etc.), and kids.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

I think one of the first things to talk about is to find out how compatible you both really are. If you share the same interests or not. If not it will not last long. Next thing would be about money. And then if you both feel the same about having children and raising a family.

Money, children (how many to have, partnering on rearing and discipline), helping each other out with daily chores, trust is a very big issue - can each of you trust the other without reservation because if you can't then don't bother getting married.  Of course there are many more but these are just a few of what I consider important.

Just put God first, your spouse second and yourself last.  :angel11:

Hopefully, you choose someone who will do the same for you.

That will take care of most of the issues you will ever encounter. :highfive:

Believe it or not - do you want children and how many?  People assume their beloved will want children because they themselves want them and that may not be the case.  Also when do you want to start a family even if you do both want them.

Religion is something else a couple should talk about, and prenuptial agreements as well.

Important things like finances, having children or not, religion or what one believes, and even political affiliation. There are others to but these are some very important topics to discuss.
