College may not the be the best place for everyone , but I do believe all young men and women need to learn a trade either at college or a vocational school. Some times a person who has learned a trade will start out at a much better paying job then some one who has sit in college for 4 years and never learned how to really work.  Flipping burgers is mostly for teens wanting to earn some spending money not a way of life for a person with children the pay is not good.  So  learn a trade. We have a great tec. school here where the kids get out of school and have great careers.  so far this year we have young men and women from 5 different countries on scholarships learning about the wind generators. Every one that  goes through the courses has a job waiting for them at great pay. Just saying is all.

"Flipping burgers" is for whomever needs a job.  I had a job for almost 20 years and when the economy tanked so did my long standing job.  I had to take whatever I could get to be able to make some money.  Fast food is not just for kids.  Kids can't run the store.  You have to have adults to manage the establishment and to work when the kids call in because they have a date.

And it's not always as easy as "learn a trade".  Where I live jobs are scarce and it doesn't matter how many degrees you have.  All that matters is WHO you know.

I am also curious as to what great jobs you can get from learning about wind generations???

It depends on the person and what they want as a career. Many people who make a lot of money aren't necessarily enrolled in a college, but they are constantly learning in other ways. Making money online is a big thing and you don't need a college education to do so.

College isn't for everyone but I di think it is very helpful for many.  It gives you a chance to learn how to think more critically.  College was the best time in my life.  I loved it.

I think it depends on who you are. If you go to college for the wrong reasons (to not have to work full time) then you won't get much out of it. If you use it to learn then it will be a benefit.

Not necessary College but some kind of higher degree, I have discovered that for you to get a good job, with good pay and sometimes to even be considered for a position you need to have a degree.  I have a daughter that did not do good on a College, but she went to a Technical school got a degree and Certified herself as a Medical Assistant and now got a pretty decent job.  She is thinking into going back to school and complete to be a Nurse.  But really some sort of higher education is need it now.  Experience alone does not count on this times and age.

I went to college, mainly for myself, I wanted to learn more about things, but as far as jobs, don't know how much it helps.

Yes, it is very important
To make one a more well rounded, critical thinking individual at the very least.   It is a great experience to go through.

It will help you to get a job doing something you want to do, with decent pay.   Some jobs don't even care what your degree is in, just that you have one.   Opens the door to endless possibilities :)
