Have you been on a getaway weekend lately?

We use to go to places like Birch Run, Lumbard, IL which is 40 minutes from
Chicago, Traverse City and other places. We just like taking a break and
Getting away.

We do this on a regular basis a dozen times a year or so. We have a membership with a timeshare that has resorts at the coast an hour or two from home, so that makes a perfect getaway, although we seldom take them on a weekend with all the crowds.

No, it's been far too long.  Would love to just jump in the car and take off for a few days, heck, I'd settle for one night away. Wishful thinking right now but hopefully things will turn around for us and we'll be able to afford a few days away.

Some of the cities in Northern Illinois, like Geneva and others near the Fox River are just adorable. I love going there when I get the chance. Since my daughter lives up north, I can make it to some of them at times.

I love weekend getaways but rarely get to experience them. I'm glad you have the opportunity to do so. Taking a break from the everyday noise and hubbub is invaluable. Keep it up!

For short get aways, we like to go to Okoboji.  It is a lake area.  Fun to relax and visit the area.

A few month ago I did a stay cation to the local casino and got a hotel room it is nice to get away..

I will be going to Colorado to celebrate my 20th anniversary with my husband next month!!!=)

Earlier this summer, I was on a getaway week.  I attended a conference in Nevada.  We also went to California to visit our cousins. 

We had a  blast!
