Good question. My baby girl teeth started to come in on Aug 12th her 4th month, I started brushing a week later after that. Because I feed her formula and it has some sort of sugar so it is recommended to brush babies teeth in the morning and before bed time. They actually sell little rubber finger brushes w special tooth paste for 4months to toddlers age:)

To avoid bacteria it's recommended to wipe babies gums with a soft wash cloth and when teeth arrives you can use a wet toothbrush or a rice grain of toothpaste.

I don't really know but would think it best when they get any teeth.

U should start brushing even before they come out. Brushing teeth is not only about teeth brushing but brushing the gums are as important.

I don't have any experience with this subject but if i had to guess, I would say start brushing when they start to come in! Hope you find the answer!

As soon as a tooth appears, I always washed my children's gums with a washcloth before they had teeth.

Well, it's a little while since my boys were babies, but I recall the nurse telling me that you should start brushing their teeth, for a real purpose, as soon as they get their first tooth. But you don't use a regular toothbrush,  you use a special "finger" brush which is made of silicone or rubber and has small bendy bristles. You can of course start them a little earlier to get them use to the feeling of this in their mouth, and there's nothing wrong with brushing just their gums also.

Started brushing my daughter's gums gently with my finger before she even had teeth. Never too early to care for teeth.
