do you have a lawn fairy?
« on: August 31, 2015, 10:26:47 am »
I think I do. Once every other month, I hear someone ringing & banging on my door in which I ignore. I ignore all door rings& banging unless I'm expecting someone. Anyway when I go out later at night the front of my lawn has been mowed. This started happening after my husband died 6yrs ago.I think one of my neighbors took pity on me but I still don't know which neighbor it is.Any way, I thank my mystery fairy neighbor for helping me even in secret. So, I wonder does anyone here have a lawn fairy?

No, unfortunately I have to cut my own grass. But I'm glad somebody is helping you.

Are you sure your husband didn't hire someone to come by now and then to trim the lawn?  Maybe whoever it is is banging on the door because he's looking to get paid (although I do find it rather strange that whoever it may be might still be coming by 6 years later).

Someone has been mowing your yard for 6 years and you haven't even looked out to see who it is?

that is great that someone is helping you a mow your lawn you have a great neighbor or neighbors that cares about you. Maybe sometime in the future you will find out who this is and be able to thank them in person

I wish...
Yesterday I was thinking I had gremlins though.... I am missing the ads from the Tuesday mail, some plastic was removed off my lawn chairs, and I'm missing a box of coffee from Amazon - over a week overdue....   gremlins

Lawn fairy haha. I like that name. That's really nice of them. I haven't had this experience when I lived in a sf house. I'm in an apartment now so I don't have that problem, though plenty of others. Such is life  :P

I surely would be curious to see who is cutting my lawn if it were me.

I don't even have a lawn, but I do have a landlord who illegally shows up unannounced to do things to my front "yard" that I don't want done.  I wouldn't call him a fairy though, more of a gremlin or troll.

How is it you don't hear the mower?  Six years and you haven't heard the mower or looked out to see who's there?  I couldn't do that, I'd have to know.

You could always leave a thank you note on your front door addressed, on the outside, "to my lawn fairy".

How sweet of your neighbors!  I guess I do have a lawn fairy ~ my husband.  He does the lawn work while I'm at work so when I get home, it all looks so nice and neat.
Have a wonderful day!
