anybody else use coupons?
« on: August 14, 2009, 08:19:36 pm »
I feel like a total dork but in addition to trying to make extra money, I also am trying to save more of what I have and have been using coupons even trading with others online. I think I'm getting the hang of it. I could not believe when I watched my total drop from $161.00 to 101.00 just from coupons. I wish I had been doing this for years!! I've decided I am going to put the amount at the bottom of the receipts where it says "coupon savings today" and put in a separate savings account for a vacation with the family next year. I have never been on an overnight vacation with my kids. That would be cool  ;D

i personally don't use them but my mom does...and she used to get soooo much stuff for free back in california like 4 years ago when coupons were actually worth the time to cut out...nowadays they're not as great but they still save some money. i love the double/triple thing

I have a 9 month old and i just started using them and pretty fascinated by how much u can save sometimes. Now i feel bad for when i was little and thought my mom was lame for using them lol. it takes time sometimes but well worth it. Although ill send my Boyfriend to the store with them and find them in his pants still when i do wash.

I use them. I also use them when I go shopping with my mom. It's not a lot but you do save some money.

I really should use them more. I know I would save money but I'm bad about going in the store and getting what I have on my list and getting it over with. I would probably use them more if I had a family to shop for but its just me so I don't spend a lot anyway.

I think that you can save ALOT using coupons.  It is one of the easy ways to really save some money.  Many people do not realize how much you can save.  When you combine coupons with sales/promotions/rebates you can really do very well.  On a fairly regular basis, I have been able to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of groceries/household items for just pennies on the dollar.  It just takes practice and know how.

I do use them and love it!!  I cut them from the paper and print from the internet. I also only use them for items I already buy or a new one I want to try. The rest I ignore. I use a store that doubles and triples coupons as well as gives a discount for military. It is better than the military store (commisary). I learned that the wed. ads the stores send out are not always what is on sale. Those are the things they use to get you in the store. And I can take that to Wally World and they will match the price (usually even better). I no longer purchase detergent or household cleaners from retailers anymore. I purchase from a direct marketing company that has safer, more concentrated products. This also helps me save money. It is still a work in progress, every penny that stays in my account earns more for ME!!  ;D

i've always ran into the problem of the coupons
never being for brands/things i like... lol.
is that just me being picky? or does everyone
compromise in order to use the coupons?

most of the ones i've wanted to cut out
because they're such a good deal, are for things
that i never buy anyway. so maybe i'm just
looking in the wrong places?
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

OMG-ALL THE TIME!!  I have my little coupon carrier ready to go with me for any shopping trip.  I save the good ones till double coupon day at our local Super K and get a lot of things for free or they end up paying me to take them!  It's well worth the time and effort.  I save a ton of money using coupons.
