I was a very good kid (and most of my siblings were). Very obedient, to a fault...Sometimes parents can stifle children out of fear.

I was a good girl 99% of the time. Except for when I was about 2 when I convinced my brother Billy to spread mustard all over the arm of a new corduroy chair my father had just purchased. I did as I was told, did well in school, and was always punctual and reliable.

For the most part I was a good child. But once in a while I would let loose on my brother and sister who were younger. I always had to be the one looking out for them and sometimes they would tick me off. Mom would give me one of her looks and I knew either straighten up or do the switch dance. She really never hut me I just didn't like to be scolded or the switch. Besides we were taught to respect everyone or get into trouble.

I was a well behaved kid. Whenever my mother took me somewhere, I stayed close to her and if sat down, I did not get up until my mother was ready to leave.

I was a good child until I turned twelve. That year my parents got a divorce and I felt as though I were more a tax deduction to whichever parent bid the highest. My father pretty much removed himself from my life and my mother began dating which left me to roam the streets. I found solace within groups of friends and gangs. My school was a less than adequate inner-city school in which integration was forced. Violence, drugs and alcohol were everywhere. Although I managed to continue sports I began to succumb to peer pressure and slowly became a bad child.  My younger sister turned to drugs and is currently battling a self esteem problem with prescription pills. Looking back makes me feel that I was robbed of a child hood but grew to be pretty strong as a result.

I don't think there is a bad child, but a naughty one. I was a good one.

I was pretty good....I instigated a lot of "trouble" in the house, but on a whole, a good kid! Ask my folks! ;)
