Hard Boiled Eggs
« on: September 03, 2015, 06:20:44 am »
I came across a new way to make peeling hard boiled eggs faster and easier.Put a slice of lemon in with the eggs before you boil them.Do like you always do with the eggs. And you will be surprised how it works.

Thanks for the tip.  I always make about 2 dozen red beet eggs for Labor Day, this will make pealing them a whole lit easier.

I found the lemon trick last week and it works great. I have fresh eggs and they will never peel,  Not a problem is time.

I really find this hard to believe, but it's simple enough to do that I am going to give it a try TODAY!

Thanks for sharing that, good to use when making a dish that calls for lots of eggs! I just run them under cold water, but will try your suggestion next time.

Once I have hard boiled eggs, I gently tap them all over and then I let them sit in cold water for a few minutes. Once the water has seeped through the cracked shells I slip a teaspoon under the shell whilst cold tap water rinses the egg, the shell usually comes away in one piece! Occasionally, if you only crack the shell and leave the membrane intact, the water doesn't seep right through to the egg and it makes peeling the egg a little more tricky. But this is quite rare. 99 times out of 100 it works perfectly!

well since I do hard boiled eggs at least once a week  i will have to try the lemon thingy  lol

I usually just boil them and rinse them in cool water as I peel them.  I always find it easier to peel them while they are warm.  they just seem to peel easier  :)
