The only senior pics I took was for the yearbook. I didn't have one of those photo shoot type pics. I don't like taking pics.  Unless you are a really good photographer I'd hire a professional.

When I was a senior, I had my picture taken professionally.  I hope that helps.  Have a terrific weekend!

Worth it to go professional for senior pics. Just my opinion. But they have excellent quality. I think you'll be glad you did.  :)

Your grad will be looking at them for a long time to come as will you and everyone else. It will make her look beautiful. Besides, it's not just a picture, it's a remembrance.

My children are not that old yet. But talking of school photos, I have been really disappointed with some of the portrait companies the schools use for their student portraints. Twice in the last two years I have had to get my oldest son's portrait taken two times because the first one was not satisfactory. Last year my son was not smiling and this year his eyes are almost closed! Do they not look at the photograph after they have taken it to check these things? I was so disappointed that I invoked my right to get a full refund.

I think the best way to do it is go with an independent photographer. I've seen some fabulous pictures done by them. I think they go the extra mile, whereas a photographer for the school does it so much, he doesn't care as long as he gets all the pictures done and gets his paycheck. I'm sorry, but school pictures usually suck.  :sad1:

My granddaughter has her own photography studio and does a beautiful job. I've seen some others on Facebook that are great. Worth the investment, as I said. They'll make you happy.  :star:

We went through the senior picture thing last year. In the mail was a coupon for thirty percent off of senior pictures at a locally owned photography studio.  I graduated in 1981 and my Senior photos were about one hundred and twenty five dollars but I needed a professional photographer because I am not very photogenic. My daughter was asked to bring her French horn from band, tennis racket, soccer ball and three changes of clothes. The session took a little over three hours. Two weeks later we made an appointment to view the photos and they turned out absolutely beautiful-I actually got teary eyed. We decided on which photos we wanted and a framed collage. We were handed a bill for over two thousand dollars! We trimmed down the number of photos we had initially decided on and managed to get the price down to four hundred dollars. Good Luck!

This a personal decision based on your family's financial situation and the importance you and your Senior place on the whole Senior picture experience.

The three girls did the whole professional studio experience package with multiple locations and changes of outfits for their senior pictures.  Our son, just chose a picture from some taken by a friend.

It was an "experience" for the girls.  We had fun taking the pictures and enjoying the whole experinece.  One of the girls was even a "model" for the studio so we got a discount on her photo package.

My high school took care of everything. I just had to show up at a certain location.

It depends on the yearbook rules. If they let you enter one then no problem.

We took our sons senior picture ourselves. It all depends on the yearbook rules and the school to give the okay for the picture.
At least that's how it works I  our school district. If your not sure contact the school and ask the questions you need answered.
