People who play the victim
« on: September 20, 2015, 10:47:28 am »
I get so tired of people who do things to make their own life hard or do things to make bad or negative things happen in their life and then they play the victim and act like everybody is against them.

Personal Responsibility.  We need more of that in this country.   People need to realize their actions have consequences.  And when your actions have bad consequences that negatively directly effect their own life they need to put on their big girl panties and deal with it.

But I guess it is easier to play the victim and want everyone to feel sorry for them.

I think there are those who will always play the victim. Sad but it's what they do.

Some people will always play the victim.  I think it might be for attention, you know poor me, pity me.

I have some in my family that do that and it gets on my nerves. But the one is a sister who is 5'2.  Its short but she is not that short,, I know a lot of people who are shorter. But she makes a big production of it and whines about it too get people to do things for her.  I have gotten to where I just ignore her and go on about my business. She will get it done one way or another. I am not much taller then she and I just go and get the ladder or stepstool and get it done.  Although hubby will do it for me but if he is not around  I will get it myself.

there is always that one friend and/or family member that is always negative and is very blunt, full of themselves, and always plays the victim. but the issue is you can never tell them because also always extremely sensitive

Maybe.  I know people who constantly try to get others in trouble but if it back fires on them or people get mad and don't talk to them then they act like they have been so wronged.  And it's like no, you brought this on yourself.  Like a woman I use to know that tried desperately to get a co-worker fired.  In the end it was SHE who lost her job.  Not the guy she was telling lies on. lol

She was always trying to cause problems and trouble in somebody else's life.  Then cried and wanted everyone to feel sorry for her when things back fired on her.  Actions have consequences.

Some of them are not playing "the victim role"...they are actually the victim of crimes committed against them by third parties, also known as "criminals or perpetrators". Have you ever heard: "When bad things happen to good people?"

I agree with you one hundred percent! I get irritated with people that want you to do their job for them. I had this annoying Attorney that would come to me for 'advice' and than ask me to do her job so that she could better learn it by observing! This Attorney would also ask me for advice and then I would hear her asking two or three other people for advice until she got the answer that allowed her to gain acceptance for her shoddy work. She only lasted about three months on a project that I have been at for two years.  She would actually argue with the client that was paying us to get the work done in a manner that was acceptable to their compliance department! People like her really make me love my dogs even more!

You seem to have not understood the original post.  I am not talking about someone who is an actual victim.  I am talking about stupid people who do things like trying to cause problems for other people and when it back fires on them then they act like THEY are the victim.  Everyone is against them.  An example I mentioned earlier.  I had a neighbor who was trying to get a co-worker fired.  This went on for months.  Finally the company had enough of her telling on him and constantly causing problems and SHE was fired.  But she cried to everyone and complained saying how they were so mean to her.  SHE was not the victim here.  SHE caused the problems.

She done the same thing in the neighborhood.  She constantly gossiped about everyone and run from house to house saying "she said this" and "he done that".  But then when people get fed up and don't want to talk to her - she is crying about how everyone is mean to her.

She caused the problems and then played the victim when her schemes back fired on her.

I think sometimes that is the motivation. But there is also the segment of the population that plays the victim in order for their own gain (whether it be financial gain, or a gain over their control of others as in political gain).
