Amazon
« on: October 08, 2015, 07:38:22 am »
so many people "love" Amazon.
When you joined, you didn't know that it would be so difficult to close your account and definitely confusing.
I don't how many have closed their accounts; I saw some blog information going back to 2013.
I got fed up with them last month, myself.
There is no, not one easy way to close the account. I went through this just a few minutes ago.
You have to call them first.
They send you an email -- it has an extra link to join an amazon program, which you don't want when you want to close the account, and the correct link. The correct link takes you to the general website if you don't press it hard enough.
Then, they want  you to send them an email from a link they sent you.
Then, they tell you that you have to wait 5 days for your account to be closed.

Curious why you want to "close" your account?  Why not just stop using Amazon, what makes it necessary to "close" your account?   Would like to know what got you so upset with them.   I've always loved Amazon and have never had any difficulties with anything I've purchased.

I'm curious about that as well. I've never had any problems with Amazon either but I suppose if I didn't want to use it then I just wouldn't login and use my account. Don't think I would ever close my account. Did you have a bad experience?

They'll get the message once you stop logging in.

Amazon is my favorite shopping site, so I would never want to close my account. In fact, I even have a Prime membership there, and it has saved me hundreds of dollars in shipping costs. Not to mention now I found deal sites to get free or really cheap things there.

I am a little curious too, but I know people that have had their bank info compromised using Amazon. But their bank took care of it for them.

I use amazon every once and awhile sometimes I find good deals have never been really disappointed or wanted to cancel my account.
if I didn't like the website and wanted to close my account I am glad it at least isn't a real easy thing to do. But it also sounds like it is a little to hard or ridiculous. :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :peace:

I'd never close my Amazon account. It's been a favorite online shopping site of mine a long time.

I despise websites that do not provide you with an easier means of closing your account. I believe I still have an Amazon account, however I do not remember the log-in credentials. As many of the previous postsers have implied, the lack of activity on your account after a specified period of time may cause them to close your account.
