What do you do when you have periods of being unable to sleep? I am so tired but cannot get well rested.

Maybe u can take a sleeping aid or if u can take a vacation from work and just get some rest at night. Try to block out everything you can when u are going to sleep. The problem is, is that your mind is still going and not sutting down properly.

Ease yourself into it. Keep the room dark. Avoid stimulation other than sex. Sex is a good way to get rest . Drink Camomile tea before going to bed.

I just read on one of the other posts that taking magnesium will help you to sleep.  I don't have that problem so I can't verify that info but it won't hurt to try.

I like to read to get sleepy.  Also watching tv sometimes helps!  Good luck!  I sometimes have a lot of trouble sleeping myself!

Drink some tea, dim or turn off all bright lights, play something soothing on the radio, and if all else fails sex as one person suggested.

I have several books that I have read , and re-read.  I grab one of them and read.  It relaxes me enough to sleep, usually.

a small amount of Apple cider vinegar in a glass of water as couple hours before bed helps.
dilute it somewhat; not too much, not too little.
a drop of lavender oil on your pillow helps too.

I go thru cycles with my sleeping.  I went thru a cycle earlier this year where I was getting very little sleep no matter what I did.  I tried hot tea, warm milk, reciting silly little nursery rhymes over and over in my head, staying up later, going to bed earlier, playing games on my phone, reading, and praying for a quiet mind (not all the same night of course).  The praying and reciting silly rhymes seemed to help the most.  That cycle lasted about 3-4 weeks.

You could try taking a shower, or bath. You could also try some tea. If you still can't sleep you could watch a movie. Although the bright television could keep you awake for longer but you wouldn't be bored.

Do other things until you fell sleepy. Then, go to sleep.
