I just learned that before we had clocks humans use to have two sleep phases. They use to say they would sleep four maybe 4 hours then wake up four about 1-2 hours and go back to sleep till the sun rose. Maybe your body is reverting back to the natural cycle. I would do something soothing like reading or, having a warm drink ( no caffeine lol ). I hope this helps you :) It does with me. ;) ;D

Try and keep a regular sleep schedule as much as possible.  It can be really hard I know.

Drink milk, exercise or just plain find a way to put yourself to sleep not really bore yourself but put yourself to sleep  by watching a show you like or reading a good book

Sometimes I cannot sleep in the middle of the night and I used to watch or at least listen to the TV in my room but it no longer works so I just keep laying there and turning over and over.  Eventually I do fall back to sleep and then don't want to get up when it's time.

I've had insomnia problems forever, have tried many things.  My favorites would be drinking a mug of warm milk, chamomile tea, a warm 20 minute soak with a cup of epsom salts, and if eating close to bedtime make it a small serving of carbs NOT protein.  No caffeine in evening, sleep in a dark, cool room.  No tv, computer or excercise two hours before bed.

These help me some times.  Many times, I'm in too much pain to sleep well so I go until I'm exhausted and then sleep like the dead for a few days.

I think probably a lot of people would say it's important to plenty of fresh air and exercise during the day. Try to go to bed and get up at the same time each day so that your body clock gets used to the new regime. Have a hot milky drink just before you go to bed and don't do anything brain-stimulating before your expected bed time. I also try not to eat so late into the evening. All of these have worked perfectly for me over the decades.

Making yourself really tired with physical labor is helpful. Most of us don't do that very much, but it's the best way for a good night's sleep in my opinion.

Doing anything with the electronic stuff before bed is a no-no. That means no computer, smart phone, tablet or television. The lights from electronic devices is a real waker-upper.

I read to get sleepy, but it has to be a little boring. It can be interesting, but still a little boring.

Melatonin is supposed to help. I take something that has melatonin in it most nights.

I did try some ZZZquil pills when I was out of town and it worked really well the first night I tried it.

Having some white noise, like a fan, or a white noise machine can help if you're noise sensitive.

Complete darkness is a good thing if you can achieve that in your bedroom.  8)

A comfortable bed is good for a good night's sleep. I'm thinking of getting a pillow top.

Warm milk helps sometimes. I used to do that every night. Not being hungry helps. Nothing wrong with a little light snack before bed. Especially if it has tryptophan in it, like :turkey: or milk.

I like to have an audio book going to put me to sleep. Works like a charm for me.

Pray for a good night's sleep.  :angel11: God is always on your side if you're in his will.

I try to calm down before I get into bed I don't turn on many lights. I often go to bed with the tv on but I make sure the remote is on sleep so I don't wake up in 2 hours.
reading will also help me fall asleep.
if I wake up in the middle of the night I play solitaire on the ipad.
Hope this helps :turkey: :turkey:

Bath with lavender. read a book before bed (part of). listen to soft music. noise maker or ceiling fan. meditate before bed. walk or exercise late afternoon so you will be more tired. cut out the caffeine at night so it doesn't wire you. That is a few suggestions........ I have a lot more for toddlers but not so many more for adults.

If my head won't shut down I take a dose of White Oak (Bach Flower).  Chamomile tea or supplements will help me relax enough to get to sleep.  :peace:
