Holiday Dessert Recipes
« on: November 08, 2015, 02:59:20 am »
I love hanging out on the Food.com website when it's time to put together food for the holidays.

This year someone was kind enough to give me a couple of cans of pumpkin.  I'm trying to decide if I want to use a cream cheese frosting or throw some whipping cream on top.

Below is a recipe for pumpkin bars that has 55 5 star ratings on Food.com:

4 large eggs
1 2⁄3 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups mashed pumpkin
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350°.  Beat together the sugar, oil, eggs and pumpkin.  Sift dry ingredients and add slowly to pumpkin mixture.  Mix well.  Pour into a 15x10x1 pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Cool completely.

I'll probably use some brown rice flour so I can experience these puppies being gluten free.
Have a great day!

Thanks for sharing!  I may try the pumpkins bars...they sound delicious! I love the cream cheese frosting idea.

I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year so I've just started organizing recipes. I wanted to have some traditional favorites and then introduce some new dishes/recipes.  :turkey:

Food.com offers a variety of recipes to prepare annually.  They have a lot of great recipes to prepare for family, church and other times for celebration.  I have downloaded a few recipes from food.com.

Sounds delicious! Holidays are meant for lots of calories and things you don't eat very often. I also recommend looking for recipes on Pinterest. So many good ones!
