Thursday is volunteer at nursing home day.

I helped serve lemonade,graham crackers, and bananas to the elderly people.I earned $8 today and $16 total for two weeks work.Our day program owner pays us.

We will be going to church and helping with the thanksgiving dinner for those that would not have a dinner. Every one helps out and makes salads and dessert. The church and some members cook up the turkeys and trimmings.  I will be making a very large tossed green salad, a macronei salad and a chocolate cake to take.   I am looking forward to it. Then afterwards will be going out to my brothers to see the family.

I volunteer at a local nursing home twice a week. I gave done this for about 6 years.  I take the residents to the hairdresser, therapy, activities (all in the home). In the summer I wheel them outside and we hang out in the fresh air.  I read to them, talk with them, take them to the ice cream parlor for some treats, take them to activities, especially bingo which they love, whatever they want.  It's sad, so many of them get no visits.
