I've worked retail so I understand why retailers love "Black Friday"....but I think their greed has become disgusting with all the "PRE-Black Friday sales"!!   I do NOT like being bombarded with e-mails, flyers, radio announcements, etc all November long.  "Black Friday" ISN'T "the REASON for the Season"....and it keeps many employees from enjoying their families (something holidays USED to be all about!)

If employers want to treat Black Friday as if it were a National Holiday, I think they should be required to pay employees holiday pay for working that day,  as well as holiday pay for working Thanksgiving!!

I get so burnt out with all the Black Friday stuff. It makes me a little sad how nasty people can get just so they can get a good deal on something. It makes me burnt out on Christmas as well.

There are a lot of cool movies coming out that date and they all seem like Blockbusters.

I look forward to Christmas not for sales as consumers have proceeded to do with an intent of tarnishing
the day in which we celebrate the birth of Christ.

When I was young and the children were too along with all of my nephews and niece, I spent a lot on them, but as they got older and their wants were getting out of hand I backed off on spending. I felt their parents could buy them the expensive items like I would buy for my own child. Now they are all grown and have families it is up to them now to buy for their children or the grandparents buy for them. Now that both of my boys are deceased we no longer do Christmas like we did when they were young. I prefer going to Church Christmas Eve and just having a quite  time at home on Christmas day. If we go out to my brothers we wait until the hoopla is all over then show up. It is not easy without them.
