No right or wrong answer
« on: November 22, 2015, 08:25:29 am »
I am still trying to figure out how a company can reject your answers to a survey that has no right or wrong answers.  I am convinced these surveys are manipulated to get the survey results they want.  They reject the answers they don't like and only take the ones they do.  Then they can say 97% of people surveyed like our products.  Yep, only because 75% of the people surveyed that didn't like your product - you rejected their answers.  :o :o :o

I stopped trying to understand a long time ago. It started to frustrate me too much, haha. But clearly there are right and wrong answers.

Sometime I try my best to take the survey.  And I think most of them reject me.  So I STOP long time ago.

Sometimes it isn't necessarily that your answer was "wrong", but rather it is because they are looking for a particular demographic. For example, if they show a product and your answer(s) indicate that you just don't like those types of products, they may stop your survey since they are looking for people that do purchase those types of products and want a better comparison between their particular product and their competitors from people actively purchasing those types of products. Or perhaps they've already had surveys that show that 75% of the public doesn't like their product, so they want to now survey only people that liked the product in order to have deficiencies pointed out without the results being tainted by the survey taker's overall negative feelings about the product; in other words, interviewing people that dislike your product may claim that everything is wrong with it, whereas someone that likes the product may be more willing to point out particular problems to focus on for improvement than painting the product with a broad brush.

Surveys can be so tedious and frustrating. I actually qualified for one today - a rarity - and I was pretty surprised. Most of the time I don't bother because I don't qualify and get tired of doing one for 10 minutes only to be told I'm not the demographic they're looking for. I think that's the problem you may be having, as another poster mentioned.  ???

I agree with what your saying, when that happens I just move on to the next survey and hope I get that one.

I think they also look for a target market. I understand that, if they're only looking for someone 18-34 and you take the entire survey and you're 40+ and you test out of it, then you'd be frustrated, but perhaps it's the way the survey is set up? All we can do is take the survey and hope for the best.

If 75% of the people already do not like it and you are having to kick people out because even more are not liking the product then obviously your product sucks and you need to figure out how you can make it better so people like it.

My point is those questions should be asked first and up front.  Not take the entire survey (which happened a couple days ago) or over half and then get kicked out saying "oh you don't qualify".  Or the latest you do the entire survey and get credit and then weeks later they reject your answers.  They don't want to truth.  They want answers that makes them look like they are the best.  It doesn't matter how many people say yes I will buy your product and you are number one.  In reality if your product sits on the shelf in the stores and does not sell - does it matter how many surveyed people said they would def buy it - if they do not?
