What God wants-Biblical Marriage

While I think marriage has its benefits, I don't believe two people who are in love have to be married in order for God to love them. First of all, I was married to a man who treated me terrible and turned into something I never expected. The man I'm with now treats me great, and we have decided we will not marry, because a piece of paper and a ring doesn't determine love. And God know that and accepts that. If two people love each other, isn't that all that really matters?
