While the treadmill and elliptical are great, you must remember that weights are just as important for "burning calories" because when you lift weights your calorie burning continues all day and even when you sleep.

I have my own exercise equipment in my basement.  I haven't walked on the treadmill in a while and my stationary bike makes this awful noise, but I do work out with weights and a stepper 5 days a week.

Good for you!, we use to have a gym membership but did not use consistently, so we cancel I usually walk  daily and use light weights at home, I have some work out videos, so they work just fine for me.

Other benefits of a good work out besides a good night sleep are improved skin and mood - well that's my personal experience.
