bask in the glow of being lazy.

and what i mean by that, is don't buy a pack.
just don't stop at the store on your way home
or whatever your routine is. keep driving past the
gas station. that way, once you get home (or
wherever you're going) you'll have to do twice
the work of going BACK out to buy a pack...

i can easily talk myself out of going, once it means
putting clothes back on &wasting more gas to get there.
ALL for something i don't need in the first place!
all for something i just think i want...

I have heard of people having success with the patch...you will be saving money in the long run...maybe take up a new hobby to occupy your time...maybe complete offers here to occupy your time!

I smoked for 10 years, from age 16 through age 26. One day I woke up with $5 for the rest of the week. I thought to myself, smoke or eat?. Well, I made my decision and haven't smoked in almost 18 years. I don't miss it either!!

I have tried several times with no luck. I have had a few friends say the nicotine gum helped them a lot.

Quitting smoking is really not hard. I quit when I found out I was pregnant. I haven't smoked since. You just have to decide to stop and stop it!

I am not sure it is that easy for everyone.  An addiction is a very  powerful thing.  Do you think that a crack addict likes waking up in the gutter.  Of course not, so why would they repeat the behavior over and over.  I think some people smoke but never really get the addiction.  That is why they say it is easy to quit.  It is for them.  Those people who are prone to addictions fight a physical and mental battle.  Like hunger.  Your body is telling you to smoke.  How long could most of us go without eating when our body is telling us to eat.  Maybe we could do it for awhile but sooner or later you break down.  I think a support group and other proven quitting methods can work if you have a strong addiction.  I would talk about Chantix as a last resort, but some people get very mad about the mention of any kind of drugs.  For me it was keep smoking and get cancer or try a drug.  It was the only thing that ever weakened my craving, but I have a great doctor that knows what she is doing and I only stayed on it for about two weeks.

The most important part is to not stop trying.  Avoid people, places and things that centered around smoking for you.  In other words, if you always go to lunch with a friend who smokes and you smoked together, you have to explain that you can't do this anymore.  At least for awhile.  Quitting involves a change in the behavior that centers around smoking.  I wish you much luck.  It can be done.

I CANT STAND THE SMELL OF CIGARETTES AND STAND THE PEOPLE SMOKING. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE DO IT ANYWAY. IT DOESNT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU AND YOUR BODY.

the most challenging part of quitting , is really wanting to quit. lol

i don't smoke anymore and i will never smoke again, (personal choice)

the second most challening part is simply get some time in between the day you stop and now

the more time passes the better it is, i love my clothes, home, car, breath, etc all are so much better, and i can't even begin to describe just how much better i feel and can't forget the money i save. i watch people smoking now (99%) of people it seems and it seems they are off-balance, but i didn't see it before as much when i smoked.

it really helped me also when i thought about how nice my clothes smelled after i washed them and i still to this day 1 year later will smell my clothes randomly as a tribute to my willing myself to stop (silly but it helps)

I never smoke so I don't know how it look like and how you could really stop but I heard that your body needs only three days to get ride of the nicotine and stop asking for it but you need a year to stop the habbit of smoking so Good luck

It's not easy and the longer you've been doing it the harder it is. The electronic cigarettes have helped me and nothing else has every helped. Good luck.
I was wondering how those electronic cigarettes worked. You're the first one I've seen thats tried them. Its a very hard habit to break. The last time I tried was with the patch but I eventually started again.
