TV Watching Hours
« on: February 05, 2016, 07:30:05 am »
What time of the day do you watch the most TV?  Now that I'm retired, I find myself watching a great deal more than I ever thought I would.  I watch some in the a.m., in the p.m., and in the late evening if I am home, and I am home much more than I used to be. I seem to have a favorite show on most days.  What about you?

If I am home, I am watching TV for most of the day.

During the weekdays, mostly watch tv late afternoon or late evening. During the weekends, usually mornings and evenings.

I rarely watch television more than a few minutes at a time.  mostly at night after everyone has gone to bed.  I do love my "ghosty shows"

I have my TV on, but I am not really focused on the shows.  It's mostly just background noise for me.  I usually start looking at TV around 10PM.

I watch more than I need to. The other day I didn't turn it on until after 6pm. I was able to get so much online work done. The only thing I did was turn on some music on my phone. It felt great to be productive.

If I am able to watch tv (since I have a little one around), it's mostly DVR'd stuff that's in the evenings.

I am retired too but I limit TV watching to three hours in the evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. except on the weekends when I watch from 6-10 usually. I watch a lot of news programming, first British news, then news about my state, then national news followed by the PBS Newshour. On the weekends I add fun programs like 60 Minutes, Madam Secretary, Downton Abbey and The Good Wife.

I have been a housewife for the last 10 years and since I gave up working, I do spend more time watching tv - well kinda! While the kids are at school, i have the news playing all day, so if there is any breaking news, I will see it immediately. I like being in-the-know so I listen to the news while I do my washing, cook my family's dinner but I don't technically 'watch' the news. Then in the evening I actually sit down and watch prime-time tv. My favorite shows are all the reality competitions such as Dancing with the Stars, So you think you can Dance, American Idol.
