Being Pulled Over
« on: February 05, 2016, 12:57:53 pm »
Almost every driver has been pulled over by the police at least once in their driving career.  I am curious as to if you have been stopped if you asked the officer to let you go or not write you a ticket?  Also, they all have dash cams and most of them wear body cams so you are being recorded and what you say is recorded.  Would this make a difference in what you said while you were stopped?

Myself, I have been stopped a couple of times but never asked the officer who had me stopped to not write a ticket or to let me go.  I think knowing I was being recorded would probably make a difference in how much I said.  lol

I agree if I know I am be recorded I would be careful in what I say. I have ben pulled over before and I have got a warning before it just depends on the situation.

I have been pulled over a couple of times. once for being slightly over the speed limit and once for forgetting to turn on my headlights when I came out of the store. Well it was a well lit parking lot. Both times all I got was a verbal warning. I admitted to both right away and then just smiled. what else can you do. I screwed up. But I will say I have been driving since I was 14 and that was all I  have ever had.  although I did get a ticked on my bike for speeding and running a red light. Judge threw it out after he got through laughing at me. I knew him.

The stupidest thing is when the officer hands you a ticket & you say "thank you" ... I've done this, & it is just so stupid & mindless of a response... like why am I thanking him/her for giving me a ticket.   SMH

I am thankful not to have gotten a ticket in a very long while :)

I got pulled over a lot when i was younger.a couple of tickets. here recently in the last year, I was pulled over twice for little things. not signaling and not having a front plate on my truck. both times i got a warning so it just depends on the officer and the way you  speak to them.

I got pulled over last year.  I went through a stop sign and the cop stopped me and asked me didn't see the sign.  I told him I must have missed it, I was kind of rushing home, I had pizza for my family and didn't want it to get cold.  He was a young cop and just laughed and let me go!

I never speed. But one time after a harrowing day at the hospital with my mother and my father-in-law, I lost focus on the way home and was driving too fast. I got pulled over and the officer said I was speeding and asked, "Do you know why you were speeding?"  I replied, "Yes, my mother just had a three-hour-surgery on a massive wound on her leg, and my father-in-law had a stroke, and I'm just on my way home from the hospital." The officer said, "I knew there was a good reason, but just keep it to the speed limit." and walked away. No ticket.

A DUI check point is not being pulled over.  Being pulled over is when a cop comes up behind your vehicle and turns on blue lights and or siren and signals for YOU and only YOU to pull off to the side of the road.

lol.  Thanks, have a good day.  I think that comes from dealing with the public.  You don't even think about it. :D

I have been stopped a couple of times, but have never asked the officer not to write me a ticket.  Fortunately both times I have been pulled they have only gave me a warning ticket.

I have got a verbal warning but never a warning ticket.  Is there a record of those on your DL?

Been pulled over three times in my life.  I never asked to get out of a ticket.  I never made excuses just handed them my info and accepted my tickets.

Did you know that they have a quota to meet and if they do not meet this quota, they are laidoff. Now, you know the rest of the story.
