Do you as an adult enjoy the zoo more than others?

Today is Zoo Lovers Day! Do you go to the zoo a lot sharing the experience with the family friends? I have nice memories? Have a gr8 day

haven't been to the zoo in years but used to absolutely love going when my son was little.  think I enjoyed it more than he did lol

I love the zoo. I love animals. I go in the summer quite often.

I'm not a huge fan of the zoo. I don't like that the animals are living caged up. They aren't even in their natural habitat. I would rather take my kids to a nature preserve or a national park to the the animals in their natural habitat. Monkeys don't live in cages and neither do the lions or tigers.

I enjoy going to the zoo. I like taking my children and get just as excited about seeing the animals as they do. Something about the zoo is just refreshing and takes you away from all the craziness going on around us.

I don't like the zoo, like Wendy, seeing the animals caged is depressing to me.

I haven't been to the zoo since middle school...At the time, it was really boring because none of the animals would come out. They were either sleeping some place far off where we couldn't see, or wasn't visible at all. We spent most of the time walking from enclosure to enclosure, burning in the hot sun, without seeing one animal...Maybe I'll have more luck today. My siblings and I are talking about taking a trip to the Chicago Zoo.

I remember going to the zoo as a kid and I really enjoyed it.  I have never been as an adult.  I doubt I would go if it was up to me, but I may get talked into going with someone else.

How would I know?  I don't know how much other people enjoy it.  I like the zoo but it is not fun when the animals are laying there lifeless in the hot weather or when they are inside and you pay to look at empty habitats.

Heck yeah! I think I enjoy the zoo more now as an adult then I did when I was a kid! Maybe it's because as an adult, I think more about animals on a scientific level, (since I am a total science nerd) and evolution and how they interact with us. As a kid, all you think of is "ooh, look, a furry thing!" I haven't been to a zoo in a while though, and I am itching to go, so maybe sometime during the summer I can plan a trip with my boyfriend.

Funny you should bring up this topic!  I haven't been to a nice zoo in a g-zillion years but just said to my fiance the other day that we need to go this summer.  He said that it would be a different experience and he was willing.  I think we will do to the Detroit zoo but I would love to go to the one in Cleveland...I think it is.  We'll see!
