Learn to go grocery shopping after I eat meal then the junk food doesn't bother me and I can walk past it and stick to my shopping list.  Eating healthier this way.  Not saying I don't get a craving for something but then I buy a small portion and when it is gone that's it!

Hi Potluck 6! Eating "junk food" can be hazardous to your health as you probably already know!  Here are some alternatives:

. Make a smoothie in a blender with ice, berries, fresh fruit
. Make a fruit salad with fresh fruit
. Chew on carrot sticks if you crave something to chew
. Eat some raisins (very sweet!)
. Eat unsweetened applesauce

Since it is almost summer, there will be many opportunities to get fresh berries, fruits & vegetables. Farmers markets are good for that!

Start gardening to grow your own pesticide-free food!

I certainly understand! But you can't bring junk food in the house.  If you don't have the discipline to control yourself yet buy alternatives for your and your son. For sweet cravings, which I also suffer from, try dried fruit, caramel rice cakes, sweet potatoes, and so on.  Hope this helps, good luck!

Also, allow yourself one cheat meal per week.  Just one meal for that one day.  Knowing you can have it later on in the week may help.

If you are trying to eat healthier, if you have a craving, eat the food you like, then go back to eating healthier.  It's a one time thing, don't beat yourself up.

That's true, feeling overly guilty about falling off the wagon will only result in you not wanting to get back on.  Shake it off and try again.

If you are trying to eat healthier, if you have a craving, eat the food you like, then go back to eating healthier.  It's a one time thing, don't beat yourself up.

I must have some junk food each week...lol  Not daily, I always allow a window within week where I indulge in some type of junk food...burger, pizza, ice cream, cake or cookies.

I find that if you try to deprive yourself of the "goodies" it only makes you want them more.  So I don't deprive myself - just limit them.

If I were skinny, I would live and breathe junk food.  As it is, I try to avoid it. Its very sad.

I've given up soda but can't seem to give up the chips.  They just call my name.  I'm going to go back to kale chips and see how long that lasts.
