making new friends
« on: April 16, 2016, 08:07:19 am »
we always remember the friends we meet as we live our lives.
For the most part anyway.
I looked my address book one time and there was on name I did not recall.
When I looked at the other entries of people I have known, I could remember where I met them

A classmate from high school looked me up when I was on Facebook. He told me that he defended me when I was being bullied. I did not remember him. My excuse? There were about 200 students in our school..... a sea of faces. You might remember the popular guy who played the lead in the yearly stage performance or the cheerleaders you saw at the football games.

It takes me awhile to make friends, i just sort of sit back and take things in for awhile before i really get to know them. I think a lot of it is because we moved around so much as a kid. I went to 13 different schools and spent the last 3 in one school. So i was just a little standoffish . But  i did go to school with 4 of the students at a little country school before all went to high school. Also made a lot of great friends and we all still keep up with each other now.

I'm very selective about who I spend time with because I don't like people trying to play minds games with me.  Also, I enjoy spending time alone so I don't have a constant need to be with someone else.

Have a great day!

I have always had trouble making friends. I have some but it seems like we don't catch up like we once did. I do wish I had more friends.

I've never tried to make a lot of "close" friends. I get along with pretty much everyone but not really a people liking person. I'd rather have a few close friends than dozens of aquintences

I made a lot of friends on the Internet and some I get together with often for lunch and talk over what we are doing.

To be honest, I have a very difficult time in making friends (or socializing with anyone period). But not because of choice. I have just spent a very sheltered childhood and focused so much on school and work over the years that my social life has been stunted. I am NOW trying to develop a social circle. And it is indeed difficult. :-(

I have a number of acquaintances but very few true friends.  I feel it's better that way, at least for me.   :)

I too am selective as to whom I hang around with and/or call friends. The main reason being is that people can pull you down to their level and/or bring added drama to your life.  :o I'm on bigger path nowadays and can't spend my time with people who aren't going nowhere in life.

I want new like minded friends. I plan to get out more this year- I've been saying that for a couple of years now but this year I actually will position myself to meet new people.
